My name is Danett and I am a SC-based multimedia artist specializing in digital photography and graphic design. I was born and raised in Nogales, México.
Ever since I was young, I have always been curious about the world around me: the materials, the people, and how I fit into it. Some of the topics I am addressing in my current work are nostalgia, memories, my place in this world, and the human condition. The process of creating my work involves an act of balance between experimentation and working intuitively. Remaining curious and adventurous with my techniques and media helps me emulate the same youthful energy I had as a child. Maintaining this energy is essential to me since a lot of my work is based on childhood memories and experiences.
Oftentimes, I find myself experimenting with texture, both visual and physical, as it relates to the tactility of the world around us and the curiosity we have as children to feel the earth, stones, and leaves in our hands. My goal for my work is to make people reflect on their own lives, connections, and memories. I hope to evoke a sense of nostalgia, mixed with some mystery through abstraction, to make the viewer come back and find something different each time.
